Alternative Well-Being December 2024 Special Consciousness Issue

Alternatif Bien-Être Décembre 2024 Numéro Spécial CONSCIENCE

Alternative Well-Being No. 219: special awareness issue!

It's in the air...

Over the past few months, your messages and healing stories have demonstrated a growing interest in the connections between body and mind.

Many of you want to know which plants or foods will help you psychologically.

At least as many want to learn more about the influence of the mind on the body.

Some have clearly identified the often psychological nature of their illnesses.

A testimony of healing through a shaman generated a large amount of mail and several requests for contact.

So you are ahead of many of your contemporaries.

Indeed, many of them still fiercely debate that old question: " Is it in my body or in my head? "

An oriental sage would answer them that the head is part of the body...

Too simple? In any case, there is something to explore there.

This is why, as the winter solstice approaches, a time conducive to returning inward and celebrating, the entire Alternatif Bien-Être team has come together to put together this rather special issue for you.

The goal: to give you the best keys and warn you against false leads.

Summary:

  • Health Investigation: Substance or Consciousness – Are Psychedelic Drugs Beneficial?

Long banned, psychedelic substances are about to be authorized for therapeutic purposes. They are also of interest to the world of spirituality, which sees them as a means to reach other levels of consciousness. Should their use be democratized to access their divine dimension, or should they be regulated on the grounds that they are not suitable for all psyches?

Our invisible specialist, Sandra Franrenet, conducted the investigation on pages 3 to 8.

  • Alternative consumption: Herbs and spices – avoid dust and colorings

Now available in supermarkets, often very inexpensive, herbs and spices should be true culinary and health treasures. But did you know that they are the most adulterated foods?

Rémi Moha gives you the keys to identifying the right products, on pages 9 to 11.

  • Prevent and Cure: Saved by Faith: An Investigation into Unexplained Healings

What if faith played a key role in healing? While not without scientific foundation, the "postmaterialist" paradigm offers a new perspective on the mind's ability to thwart even the darkest medical diagnoses.

Discover Pryska Ducoeurjoly's investigation on pages 12 to 14.

  • Psycho & Soma: Cancer – the question of meaning (episode 3: The lung)

No one disputes anymore that smoking is a risk factor for lung cancer. But what about non-smokers who suffer from this serious disease?

Philippe Dransart explores the emotional circumstances in which this cancer can manifest itself, on pages 15 and 16.

  • Herbalist Secrets: Plants that harmonize the body-mind connection

Feeling good in your head often helps you feel good in your body, and vice versa. In herbal medicine, several plants have beneficial effects on the immune, digestive, and cognitive systems.

Herbalist Caroline Gayet shares their secrets with you on pages 17 to 19.

  • I tested it for you: consciousness mapping

Developed by American psychiatrist David Hawkins, a "scale of levels of consciousness" would identify the level of integrity, truth, and vitality of every person and everything in existence. A high level of consciousness would promote health and happy events. And there would be a simple way to make it evolve in the right direction.

Emmanuel Duquoc put this new tool to the test on pages 20 to 22.

  • Healing Journey: Prostate Cancer – When Hypnosis Helps Repair the Body

Suffering from advanced prostate cancer, Frédéric Joly found unexpected support in hypnosis after intensive medical treatment. Encouraged by his wife and guided by a hypnotherapist, he discovered the power of this practice to soothe his emotional pain and promote his healing.

Clélia Fortier collected his testimony on pages 23 to 25.

  • Living in the rhythm of December

Philippe Chavanne showcases the clementine and other treasures of nature to combine culinary pleasure and health.

Read on pages 26 and 27.

  • Health mavericks: Sylvie Royant-Parola – “Without sleep, there is no awake man!”

Sylvie Royant-Parola is a psychiatrist, sleep physician, and founder of the Morphée Network, which specializes in treating sleep disorders. On the occasion of the publication of her latest book, Our Sleep, an Absolute Emergency, we asked her about the importance of and ways to sleep well in an age where screens are invading our daily lives.

Essential keys to discover on pages 28 and 29.

  • Health from elsewhere: Ayahuasca – the drink that the world envies Amazonian medicine

For the peoples of the Amazon, plants are endowed with the ability to communicate with humans. Among them, ayahuasca occupies a special place. Used by the healers of many forest peoples, this brew is said to allow contact with other worlds, for initiatory and therapeutic purposes. But to truly serve humans, it must be used in accordance with certain rules...

Anthropologist Aline Mercan warns of possible abuses on pages 30 and 31.
