Improve your mental well-being

We all try to stay physically healthy. We replace fries with salad, we exercise, we go for a walk in the evening after dinner... But is that enough to improve our overall health? Not really, because something we often forget is mental health. And mental health is closely linked to physical health. It's therefore essential to work on both. But how can you improve your mental health? We'll explain in this article.

Analyze your life

Let's start with a complicated but essential step: analysis. Grab a notebook and a pen and write down everything that comes to mind, thinking about the following:

  • Am I happy?
  • Do I cry often?
  • What are the things that make me smile?
  • Do I ever eat just to feel less sad?
  • Do I have insomnia? Or do I have trouble falling asleep?
  • Do I like my job or not?
  • What is my relationship with colleagues?
  • Do I feel stressed or apprehensive before going to see a certain person?
  • What are my hobbies and things that help me take my mind off things?
  • Who are the people who have harmed me, or who still harm me today?
  • Who are the people who make me happy? Who make me laugh? Who support me?

At the end, reread all your answers and give yourself a moment to think about it all. Little by little, you'll realize that certain things make you sad or happy. Make a short list of things you'd like to improve. For example: "I don't want to eat chocolate anymore because I'm sad, I want to learn to manage my emotions in a healthier way" or "My job makes me depressed, I'd like to have a job that I'll miss on my days off."

Improve your mental health

Take time to recharge after a difficult time or period. Sit in the park with a book, go to the spa, invite your best friend over… Do what makes you happy, and forget about the busy schedule and stress. You deserve time for rest and pleasure. You can also treat yourself to gifts that will bring you even more pleasure and well-being, both physical and mental, like foot massagers , for example. Or why not get a neck massager to unwind after a hard day at work?

Eliminate negativity

If someone makes you unhappy or stressed, they don't deserve your friendship. You need to learn to break ties with these toxic people. As for negative emotions, you can try to eliminate them through yoga, meditation, or talking to a psychologist, for example. Maybe baking will make you feel better! It's up to you to see what works best for you. There are no standards or rules to follow.
