Restore the body's natural balance
Our bodies are under double attack: from a processed, nutrient-poor diet, and from a lifestyle that's both hyperactive and sedentary, hectic and confusing. It's no wonder we sometimes pay the price!
To feel good about your body, you need to strike a balance between a varied diet, regular exercise, and peace of mind. But this balance is fragile. You must therefore make decisions and the best choices to stay fit, eat well, and thrive. This is where dietary supplements can come into play.
Supplements are a way to provide the body with a set of vitamins (micronutrients involved in physiological functions such as growth, energy and other processes 1 , minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and enzymes, in an easy-to-ingest form.
Why take dietary supplements? Partly because the nutritional value of the basic foods we have available, such as meat and dairy products, and even fruits and vegetables, is often lower than it was a generation or two ago. 2 This problem has been exacerbated by the growing availability of processed foods and convenience foods.
However, it's important to emphasize one important point: even though quality dietary supplements contribute to a good nutritional balance, they are not directly responsible for our well-being. That's why they're called "supplements": they're designed to complement our diet, not replace it. Also, even if you consume the best dietary supplements, you have no excuse to eat processed foods or ready-made meals.
Instead, think of supplements as a basic nutritional support system, especially if your diet is somewhat unstable. You should continue to explore the enjoyable experience of developing your personal well-being.
Dietary supplements can also provide additional nutritional support for specific periods of life (during pregnancy, for example). They can help maintain joint flexibility in old age, to achieve specific goals and individual organs in the body. You can develop a supplementation plan tailored to your needs.
With all the information available on the internet, you can easily learn about supplements and how they work. To get started, learn a little about essential micronutrients: vitamins A through K and the main minerals. By learning more on your own, you'll be able to understand the potential of supplements and better discern what they can do for your life.
But above all, the supplements must be of the best possible quality: this can really make a difference.
With the right diet, combined with supplements to ensure our bodies receive the necessary energy, a wonderful thing begins to happen. We become even more motivated to make the right choices for our health. What might have once seemed like a sacrifice—eating whole foods, exercising, striving to find moments of relaxation, and even working—become a real pleasure.
And you'll be all the happier for it. Supplements can contribute to a more balanced and healthier life.
